Pre-requisite for genocide: GUN CONTROL Jim
Butler, President, SCRA March 2005 GunNews The 20th century was the bloodiest in world history. Regrettably, it wasn't wars, crime, famine or pestilence that killed the most human beings. Sadly, genocide, perpetrated by tyrannical governments against their own people was easily responsible for the more deaths in the Twentieth Century than all of the above combined! Some of the largest offending governments during this period include: Ottoman Turkey (1915-1917) - Soviet Union (1929-1953) - Nazi Germany (1933-1945) - China (1949-1952), 1957-1960 and 1966-1976) and Guatemala (1960-1981) - Uganda (1971-1979) and Cambodia (1975-1979). Experts differ in their estimates of the fatalities carried forth by these regimes, but they generally fall within the range of 55 to 100 million men, women and children. One obvious constant in these tyrannical, genocidal regimes: strict "gun control" laws disarmed their citizens (victims) prior to their deaths. Three factors must be present to carry out a genocide. They are: . hatred/bigotry . a "government" staffed by people acting under the pretext of following the law. . gun control. Hatred between groups of people is the root cause of genocide and unfortunately cannot be banned or legislated out of existence. Genocide becomes possible when this hatred reaches a boiling point and when one or more parties seek a "final solution." It is necessary for these hate-driven groups to get government backing or seize control of the government thereby giving them the authority needed to carry out genocide. Control of or cooperation of the government is needed to identify, disarm, segregate and then murder target groups. To accomplish this, laws are passed to condition most citizens to obey. Government provides the organization to use force to carry out the genocide. "Gun control" provides an essential pre-condition for tyranny to succeed, removing the only viable method of resistance to genocide. Until the government apparatus disarms its intended victims, tyranny (and later genocide) simply cannot and does not occur. The Soviet Union found this out the hard way when they failed in their effort to subjugate Afghanistan. Afghanistan had no "gun control" before the Soviet invasion. Earlier, in 1928, the center-left German government passed a law that required firearms registration. When the Nazis came to power on January 30, 1933, they were able to know who exactly owned which firearms. Using "gun control" to disarm civilians, the Nazis were able to murder so many, so quickly. Nazis used registration lists in their own country and in those they occupied to disarm those persons they knew or thought were hostile. Later, in March 1938, regulations were passed by the Nazis that specifically barred Jews from owning any weapons, including knives or clubs. On January 20, 1942, the Nazis formally decided to murder every Jew in Europe. On that date, the Holocaust as we know it had arrived.
