The Sangamon County Rifle Association welcomes you to our website. SCRA is an organization whose principal purpose is to support Second Amendment issues.

In January 2004, Guns Save Life (the Champaign County Rifle Association), our sister organization located in Champaign County, Illinois, invited SCRA to publish a few pages of Sangamon County monthly news and commentary in their highly successful GunNews. SCRA proudly accepted their invitation and published its first pages in GunNews in March 2004.

SCRA would like to say a special thank you to the fine folks who make it possible to bring GunNews to its readers in Springfield and the surrounding area each month and to those who allow members to put it into their facilities where it can reach the public. Pick up a copy at any participating site, join Guns Save Life and receive your copy each month in the mail or, read GunNews online, courtesy Guns Save Life, (the Champaign County Rifle Association).

If you live in this area we invite you to attend our regular SCRA meetings on the first Monday of each month at Diamond's Buffet, 2441 S. MacArthur in Springfield at 6:30 PM (5:30 PM for dinner and conversation). The food is great, all you can eat and drink! You'll have a good time handling the hardware (firearms), talking about the issues and joining in the fun of some great technical presentations. SCRA does not charge membership dues.
